Nissan Almera 2006 1.498 cc petrol, oil capacity?

I have a Haynes Workshop Manual from the Local Library (The book covers Almera and Tino for the year 2006 and petrol).

However theres a frustrating problem. I've read the book from cover to cover but theres no mention of the oil capacity.

In my previous cars, I could easily find a reference to the oil capacity and fill a jug with that specific amount and slowly add it in after an oil change. Now the only mention I can see is to watch the dip stick and then add in a litre after the minimum point is reached.

Can anyone tell me how many litres of oil should be put into this engine ? A reputable source would also be comforting.

As for the type of oil , theres different people saying different things. I have a litre of 10W 40 left over from my previous car and was thinking of mixing it with another oil just so I can use it up. Any recommendations there ?

If engine QG15DE then http://oil-change.info/nissan-almera-engine-oil-capacity/ has a spec of aprox 3L, supported by this thread

As usual, when you drain old oil out you won't get everything out, so fill about 2L and then top up in portions until you get it right.

Had one myself. From memory it was 2.5 to 2.75l (3 litre probably accurate aswell!)

Not saying it's wrong but that's a very small capacity for that size of engine?

I feel it was about 3 litres when I had a Citroen C3 1100 CC Engine.

Is it just a ballpark figure in urban legend to stick 2.5 litres in , get a bit of tesht and youll be grand regardless of the car model ? :pac:

I had one before and off memory it was less than 3 litres. Also, the oil specs and capacity are towords the end of the cars handbook.
