Are garda or any other records of dates when accidents  occurred public? i want to know when an accident occurred to know what date to look in the papers. It was in the papers i remember but a very long time ago. There is no legal action or claim.
There was a court case arising. I had no involvement in the accident and was not a witness or anything.   Not seeking advice. I just want to know when it happened to look up archive in newspaper. would the district court record be public?

If there was no legal action or claim the district court will have no record of it.

I meant i am not involved in any legal action or looking for advice in case anyone would think so. There was a court and a news paper report. I only need the date even the year would do

From the OP “There was a court case arising.”

OP if you know who the defendant was a google search of that name and locality migh show up something. Even some old cases can be found that way.

If the matter was circuit criminal a visit to your local circuit court may be able to shed light on the matter.

I don't know the defendant's name but i know the passengers name was mentioned in the report of the court case. Nothing about passenger on google. i think it was district court

If it was a very serious or fatal road traffic collision, there would likely have been a Garda press release: https://www.garda.ie/en/About-Us/Our-Departments/Office-of-Corporate-Communications/Press-Releases/
