Hi I was hoping someone could help I currently get 162 a week jst payment ( based on separated with 3 children less maintenance and self employed) anyways I'm currently pregnant no partner and applied for maternity got letter to say it has been awarded at full rate of 235 which is fantastic news as with BN self employed I have to take on staff to run my business while I'm off which I can't afford but must do have to start new person now so trained in by time i go on leave and wages are crippling me but no alternative so wondering what will happen to my original payment will it stay the same or when maternity benefit starts will it b cut n half ... Just trying to get my head around budgeting .... Anyone any experience in this or know where I'd stand also if anyone knows how best to off set costs of new employee that be great it's a 19 year old and her first job

Your going to be going back for OPFP again as soon as your baby is born as you will reqaulify for all 4 kids as youngest will be under 7 once again. So OPFP for yourself + 4 less maintenance once again and income from self employment + 1/2 rate maternity benefit.
You can look for JobsPlus for your new employee if she’s been on JSA for long enough.

The employee has never been on any benefits and her first paying job so jobs plus not option there unfortunately
