Quick one. Bought a garmin 55 a while ago and have yet to get any real use out of it as the bloody thing won't stay on the window. It came with double sided sticky foam which seemed good , followed their instructions, come out one morning to find it in passenger foot Well. A spare sticker came with it so gave that a go, didn't work. Got some new sticky foam from arts and crafts shop and still same problem. Seems to come down in the cold of night.

Anyone had this issue or knows of any industrial strength tape that will fix to glass? Very frustrating to have the yoke and can't use it.

can you link to one, I google that and don't seem to be getting anything that would be suitable.

ah I see what you mean, cheers, hardware should have been my first thought before arts and crafts

Before you use any sort of sticky adhesive or foam or glue, clean whatever dashboard, panel or glass you are going to attach it to thoroughly. At least 3 times, with a proper degreasing cleaner. If the surface is properly clean it'll stick & stay stuck!
Seriously, clean it & clean it again. And when you're sure it's perfectly clean, clean it twice more.

Used to fit in-car accessories for a living, nothing I stuck ever fell. And I never had to use glue.

Also clean the surface on the dashcam where you fix the sticky tape to. I used isopropyl wipes and let it air dry for a few minutes. It should be good to go then.

This, any sort of grease will make it loose suction. And make sure you're not trying to stick it on the sun-shield (the bits with the black dots) up near the borders of the screen.

I've not moved my dash cam in a year and it's fine, still stuck there.

I've had the opposite problem, its a pain in the ass if you ever have to get them off! 3M pads all the way.

Yeah this one has sticky pad to the window attached to a magnet attached to the cam, if it doesn't fall off the window itself then the problem is the magnet has a stronger pull than the sticker and to detach it from window ya end up pulling the sticker off aswell leaving me back at square one.

Pinch the edge of the sucker cup. Or the edge of a credit card to break the suction.

3m pads worked a treat. Less than 4 hours later got a chip in the windscreen that turned into a 2ft long crack 😂 Anybody know a good way to clean 3m pads of a dash cam magnet?

Alcohol will solve anything, including dissolving glue

WD40 will get rid of any sticky crap left on the glass aswell, apart from the superglue...
