    Hey folks

Anyone having similar issues. Nothing happens when I hit the red button. Normally a red icon appears at the top right corner. Is the box not fetching the audio stream or what?

    Thanks

If the game is also on Sky/BT or other provider in English for UK there won't be an option.

Not on sky. They said on programme that English was available.

Edit: I've the box set to 'Welsh' for preferred language and this normally pushes the English commentary feed when it comes through but not working anymore.

    Google solved it for me.

When watching s4c press the ok button twice.
Then select audio options and then English.

They are completely different channels with completely different programmes.

Originally S4C did show Channel 4 programmes (though rarely at the same time as Channel 4, unless the show was live). But that all stopped when digital TV came about, as Channel 4 is available in Wales now.

BBBC Alba is the Scottish Gaelic station supported by the bbc. Is there not a bbc equivalent in Wales.

I would have thought Channel 4 was an independent station.

Channel 4 is an independent station only in the old sense of “not part of the BBC”. It is a statutory corporation established under the Broadcasting Act 1990 whose board members are appointed by Ofcom.

Likewise S4C, except their board members are appointed by the U.K. Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport.

The BBC doesn’t have a stand alone Welsh television station. It has opt outs on BBC One and Two. Since S4C started being funded out of the license fee the BBC has an operating agreement with S4C (on the basis of “he who pays the piper calls the tune”, apparently) but they remain separate entities.
