I have a Sony Xperia xa1. Today I have been getting spin and win iPhone ad, and play angry birds ad coming up when I try to read news papers on my phone

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of them in layman's terms

    TIA.

In layman's terms you have a rogue app or dodgy malware that needs to be dug out.

Try running a malwarebytes scan. See what it throws up.

    Tried that, nothing came up.

How are you trying to read the newspapers? Through an app? Chrome browser? i.e. which app are you using when the ads pop up?

I was getting it as well, but it seemed to be on Sky News thru chrome browser.
I checked that pop ups were blocked etc and it still occured.
I am no expert on any of this, but after a quick search for help, I went into settings > apps > google play store > app details > click on menu (3 lines top left) > play protect > there you can click on the circular arrow to scan your apps. Further reading suggested turning off "Scan Device for Security Threats" button for about 5 - 10 seconds, then switch back on and click the circular arrow scan again.

After doing all that my pop ups on Sky News appears to have stopped, although that may be just a coincidence :)
