Hi my Leaf is due its full service and I got an email from Nissan asking am I interestedin having eaf wind deflectors. Usually €161 as seen on Nissan.ie Now on a special offer of €110
If you would like to add these to your service please let me know.
I presume these are to improve the aerodynamics, anyone have them and are they worth it ?

I bought a set but never got to fit them... outside is still cold and wet regularly. Hopefully will fit them soon.
I love to have wind deflectors on my cars. I would not say they make the aerodynamics better though.

Tha price you got is good. And if they fit them for you - go ahead...

Not designed to improve aerodynamics, there purpose is to reduce the noise when the window is open. If they improved aerodynamics they would be standard so as to improve the range

agreed i also have them on another car with 4 windows and like getting in a little air to keep windows from over misting ,back windows i notice move away from side runner so leave a big gap for rain to get in so i keep rear up and front down.
check micks garage for side window deflectors price

If the genuine ones are like the old type they will be worth the extra, they fit externally and don't interfere with the window operation like the Heko and others that fit inside the window channel, they still have a stainless piece that locates in the channel but its very small.

I beleve they would improve aerodynamics while the windows are open but might make it worse than if the windows are closed. You don't want to be opening your windows on a leaf anyway, you're loosing 10% of your range if you open your windows instead of using the cooler.

    Wind deflectors offer 2 things.

    1. They can look good (in some peoples eyes)
    2. They allow the windows to be dropped about 2 inches, which allows good flow of fresh air into the cabin while not allowing any rain into the car.

No, if you don't open the windows there's no point in them as they'll only increase drag. I don't really get it either, if it's cold enough that my windows are going to fog up I'll just turn on the heat - I don't want more cold air! And if it's a nice warm day I might have the windows open fully at low speeds - deflectors won't do much good in that case either.
