Will Hyundai honour the standard 5 year warranty on car imported from UK? Advice appreciated.
    Thanks

Standard 5 years is there but you will need a full service history--book is no good,You will need actual invoices from a Hyundai dealer.
Without a history you`ll find it hard to get warranty.

Ask whoever you are buying from to get these before you bring it in.

It will be covered but Hyundai Irl will have to seek prior approval to do any work on the car from Hyundai UK which can slow up repair times to the tune of days depending on the repair.

Be careful, my April 2018 Tucson with 24500 km went for service yesterday with a question on the brakes being a little rough. Was told the disks were warped due to lack of use. Cost me approx €850 today in Keary's Cork despite a five year warranty and five year service included.

His warranty is out at this stage anyway.

April 2018 plus five years is April 2023 when I went to school...

He likely imported a used car in from the UK in the OP so probably safe enough to guess it's out, either way I doubt they waited with bated breath for two years before figuring it out themselves.

Car purchased new from Keary's Cork in early April 2018. Three family cars purchased from Keary's in last seven years.

It's unlikely Hyundai Irl will look after imported warranties if they don't look after there own Irish ones or are brake disks not covered by the warranty as Keary's maintain.

We got them to do a sticky brake caliper, 2 TPMS valves that snapped, and a handbrake button cap that fell off on a uk car.

Warranties cover manufacturing defects rather than failures from misuse, I would argue that brake discs should be able to withstand not being used, and would be livid paying €850.
Brake discs would be probably classed as a consumable. I’m surprised because Hyundai’s brake components are supposed to be very high quality.

Happened in my last Ix35 as well and no problem replacing them after 3/4 years. They must be getting loads of disk problem to say they refused. A friend of mind had his replaced after two months use from new.....

To be honest you should have shopped around and got it done for half that

True but that would have voided the remaining warranty with the consequential loss if something else goes wrong.

How would getting brake discs supplied and fitted elsewhere void the Hyundai warranty?

Maybe I'm wrong but if Hyundai/Keary's find the work was done by a third party with non Hyundai parts on my next inclusive service I think they would say the warranty is void. This is the first time it had happened to me and I'm no expert in this.

Unless the parts fitted cause an issue that you are claiming warranty against then I cannot see a problem. Brake discs are fairly straight forward. It would be no different than getting tyres fitted, your not going to need a Hyundai dealer to supply or fit them. €850 is just nuts for regular brake discs on a Tucson. My BMW has upgraded larger brake discs and a BMW dealer charges similar money to what you paid to replace them and BMW dealers are not known for being cheap.

Brake discs wouldnt usually be covered by warranty. I see you had small mileage but still disc life is driver dependant and can be warped by certain useage.
Their pricing is nuts though and would suggest that the long warranty is almost a money spinner for them in keeping people at the dealer long term.

From reading your helpful comments it's obvious that I've been taken to the cleaners. Perhaps my age (retired) has something to do with it. Thank you all for your opinions and any further comments will be appreciated.
