BMW indy service

I recently picked up a used BMW 530d. It currently has service history with receipts and stuff, and I would generally like to keep this going. Now the last two services from previous owner are from independent garages, and my local Indy is decent enough at general repairs, but I would prefer not to go to him for a service. His services are very basic, and he doesn’t generally give out receipts(unless I ask), and leaves cars very grubby after completing work, and wouldn’t consider giving the car a detailed check-up(with a check sheet of everything checked).

Dealerships nowadays, offer a service but give the car a complete check too, and I like that the dealer has gone over everything, with receipts, service book stamped, etc. Are their BMW specialists(non dealer), that offer everything the dealer offers but competitively priced.

So, the same service but less pricey?

    Where are you located?
Did you google BMW specialists in your county?

I was literally only just looking into this. I have a 320D and got a price for €250 for a full service from an Indy who specialises in BMW.

I just looked up the same service on BMW Service and it's twice the price at €500.

Give that the car is out of warranty I don't think I can justify that much of a difference!

If you think that is true you are sadly mistaken.
a friend is a mechanic for BMW main dealer here in cork.
He said they are under huge pressure from management to turn the "basic" services around within 70min. they plug the car in, clear all faults and do the fluids and filters,
they have a quick look at whats remaining on pads and rubber. if by chance they need changing, the clock is off they are told to find running replaceable (mounts bushings)
and even at that each item has an allotted time for them o replace (and normally that's half the billable time you see on your invoice).

A good indy running his own business will look after your car better than dealership, I've no doubt about this.

Bloomfield motors in Dublin that I use are really great for bmw and Valdas in motor confidence gets great reviews here too although I've never used him.

David Lonegan in ballymount is another a friend uses and raves about him.

That's every dealership in the country, if not the world.

70 minutes seems quite generous for an oil service and inspection. A lot of dealers will expect that in around 45 minutes, which is achievable, by and large.

I'm living in the Midlands, but work in North Dublin. Anywhere in Dublin is fine though, once it's a reputable Indy. Outside The Pale wouldn't be as convenient though.
