Family Life in Chapelizod

    Hey
We are thinking of buying a family home in Chapelizod. We have a pre schooler and a small baby. It doesn't seem like a bustling hub of family life. Just wondering what people think of Chapelizod as a place to bring up kids. Is there a GAA club for example? Are there good schools and creches?
The big appeal for me is reducing my commute to the city centre for work so that it shortens the kids' days in crecehe but would we be surrounded by apartment of young people renting and empty nester grannies and granddads?!!
Also is living by the river a bit risky? The estate we're looking at is directly alongside the water.
    Thanks.
