Blue Screen on unresponsive SKY+HD Box

Suddenly earlier today my Sky Box (Amstrad DRX 895), just went to a blue screen. It's been unresponsive since.

I have gone thru manually downloading new software (even though it was already upto date) numerous times but no joy.
I have tried leaving it off, unplugging all the connections, leaving the card out etc - basically every trick in book to try and get it back but still all that comes on is a blue screen.

One thing however is, it won't perform a full front panel system reset for me no matter how many times I've tried (holding down the left and right arrow buttons), the blue disc will simply not light up no matter how long I keep the buttons pressed.

Anyone got anything else I can try or will it be a case of having to ring SKY and see what they can do.

Might be of no help but similar issue happened me. I had large hard drive sitting on top of skk box and one or two of the buttons on the box were being pressed. Moved hard drive and away it went. I had tried everything before I noticed!

What do you want? It sounds like the box is done. If all you want is a working box then you might be able to persuade/bully Sky to give you a replacement for free.

Otherwise just buy a second hand box off adverts/donedeal/ebay. €20-30.

If you have a lot of stored recordings you want back then Sky will be of no use at all. If the HDD is still functional it might be possible to transfer to a new box and keep your recordings.
