Found a weanling drinking a cow today that's near calving. She's well bagged up and looked like the weanling had drunk from all 4 teats.
Question is, will this diminish the quality of the colostrum in the cow?

    Simple answer yes.

It's the same with a dairy cow the first milking is the beastings. If you milk that beastings before calving she comes into "ordinary" milk and won't have that beastings at calving.

Had the very same!! Only didn't notice it and cow has a touch of mastitis now, strugged her out this morning & again there now along with 50ml of Betamox. I'll murder that fcuker of a Nelly heifer!
