Do I need to register with Irish Water?

Hi, I moved to Ireland from the UK in November 2017; could someone please tell me if I need to register with Irish Water?:

I recently received our final documentation from my solicitor, but couldn't find anything that showed registration.

I do have a Certificate of Discharge from the previous owners, this has their WPRN and an account no. in the top right corner.


As I understand it the domestic water charges have now been discontinued so do I need to register?

We advise customers to update us with their details so we can where necessary issue operational information to them such as water outages or planned works. They can do so by contacting us on 1850 448 448.

Hi emeraldeye,

You can register online once you have your Account Number and WPRN. However, if you do not have these to hand, then we advise that you call us to register on 1850 448 448 and the lines are open from 9am - 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.
