looks like this will be the top of the range lexus saloon sold here and in the uk.
Read reviews and like other lexus models its not up to best of class (I think dash design / quality is lacking - which is surprising for lexus) however its an interesting alternative to A8 , 7 series and s class if you want to stand out , hate diesels and want pretty much guaranteed reliability.

Expected it to cost more than approx. €125k , would anyone consider one if won the lottery ? There is a 2015 LS600H around cork - terrible looking thing especially as 2007 on model looked well.

Can someone post a pic. ?

After getting an IS300h (coming from a E60 5er) i really think Lexus are under rated by the motoring press over here. Lovely smooth car with loads of smooth power.

I'd happily trade for the LS500h though!

over here , assume that includes uk ? basically the gearboxes are not supposed to work well with hybrid systems ?

The motoring press will always find fault no matter how good they are. Be it in the way they drive or the interior or some other silly nitpicking. If it was from a german brand it would be the best thing since slice bread.

When the number plate goes on the front it kind of ruins the look of it...

I’m not a Lexus fan but I saw a 181 reg brownish colour one of these new LS500s in a car park last weekend. Very imposing and impressive looking. Massive alloys.

V6 Naturally aspirated Hybrid doesn't do it for me whatsoever.

The twin turbo model that the Americans get though, would for sure.

Shame they lost the V8, imo.

Don't know what cars the people complaining about the gearbox are driving, or is it the general dislike of CVT, but my gearbox works fine. I put the foot down and the car goes like stink, no lag or gear changes to slow you down.

all the germans are making the same cars just bigger - c class and s class are near identical.
you cant say lexus styling is lazy and I don't see how an LS and GS look at all similar

Lexus have beaten the crap out of German brands for the past 10 years or so. But the herd follows what the illinformed press say. I've owned my share of German boats, but my current GS450h smacks the crap out of them in every area. I did love the 5 series as a second best. But the GS is just in a league of its own . and the newer Lexus models are stunning.

how could they possibly have beaten the crap out of them ?

Typically lazy Lexus, lets just make it bigger.

You mean like BMW, Audi, Porsche and Mercedes?

By making the German cars appear average.
Lexus is top of its class.

So why doesn't anyone buy them (comparatively speaking of course)?

Bad reviews? People like buying what they've bought before. Fear of unknown? Lack of diesels and everyones love of same... People think they are just fancy Toyota's so don't have the same badge appeal.

    Loads of reasons.
