Couple went to an Audi dealer to replace her car:

They did a pcp on an A3, with trade in, he signed the paperwork.

He then said he wanted to trade his car in and buy a Q3, the sales guy would not even quote him or look at his old car: he said he could only sell one car per day to a customer.
Salesman called him next morning and the PCP sale was done.

Any thoughts on the salesman's thought process here?
    Thanks as always

Seems bizarre. Even if he was limited to one car per customer per day surely in this case since he was dealing with a couple he had 2 customers to sell to.

Might need the pcp account to be registered to see the impact on credit suitability?!?

Thanks.. salesman was adamant he could not even give a quote for the trade in or a price for the Q3, even at risk of losing the sale..

Do banks PCP have access to the ICB? If it does it could be a block with ICB, I heard that too many checks can affect your rating with ICB.

I remember a member of boyzone buying a 6 series and an x3 together when I worked in a bmw dealership and there's definitely no law or regulation stopping it.

    It's not paracetamol it's only a car!

Must have been to do with salesman hitting his targets for the month and getting a fast start on the following month, or his commission better if seen as 2 individual sales.

I worked in financial sales up to recently and sometimes the way the bonus structure was I held stuff back to the following month if I suited me. But that was just me asking for the sale not to be included until following month I never stopped anyone doing what they wanted to do.
