Hi i built this calf transport basket this year and thought it would be a good seller, especially for moving small stock around yards and fields, it’s 8x4 and can be attached with pallet forks or 3 point linkage to all tractors. Only thing is iv advertised everywhere and haven’t had one phone call... just wondering am I missing something here .. looking €700 for it

Just because you decided it would be a good seller doesn’t really mean anything.

Did you Do any research with other farmers regarding need or price?

To get a farmer to let go of €700 you need to be pitching something they really, really need badly or be solving a serious problem for them. Is calf transport on the farm such a big problem for people ?

It's a problem here but I'd imagine it could be resopved for less than €700

Assuming this is you? I actually saw this on done deal, and while it does look very well made I can't see too many giving that kind of money for it, Just looking at what it's made out of, Surely you could drop the price by a hundred or two and still have a nice profit out of it?

I was thinking too, many farms have loaders with buckets or prongs, would all have pallet forks ?

No offence op but could I not cut down an IBC, fix a few brackets and it would do the same for maybe €80 ?

    Hi.
I've been looking for something like that.
But I would only need it 7 ft wide and would have to have mesh 2 ft high from the floor to stop calves feet slipping out side the cage.
Probably priced right if it included vat and a checker plate floor.

Fair bit of work in it.

I've something similar, but have bar going up over it, so can just drive tines of loader under bar and lift up. I personally wouldn't want to go putting it on 3 point linkage every time moving calves..
