Rear lights like Christmas tree

    Peugeot 206

Thought it would be caused by a bulb being blown, but all bulbs seem to be working, albeit some are very dim.

Indicators make fast clicking, brake lights and indicators all very feint, brake light comes on (very dim) when indicator on.

Fog light and third level brake light are 100%.

Typical French madness, any ideas whats going on?

Check for a bad wire, plastic coating missing coming in contact with body or corrosion on terminals where bulbs are housed.

Usually the brake light stay on see so so many.

Bad connection as said above most likely.

Most likely it's a corroded ground on the connector.

Broken earth wire on the affected side. The best cure is to find the earth track on the cluster and make a new wire to the car body.

Do you have dual filament bulbs for brake lights? Had a car a while back where one of the filaments broke and touched the other. It was sending voltage back in the circuit and giving me all kinds of problems.

Update: car is going into to an Indy next week, they reckon it is exactly what you are all describing and an easy fix.

One of the giveaways with that fault is the dashlights coming on when braking.
