Does family multi trip travel insurance only cover the kids(teenagers) when travelling as a family ? My 15 year old son has 2 trips without us this year and I'm wondering do I need to insure him as an individual ? Thanks.

Hi, some policies do cover kids travelling without their parents, but with a responsible adult, on school trips etc. I found 1 with Kennco.ie. Each policy is different, you need to check the details.

Certainly check with your insurance company. Some do and some don't cover trips without parents. Ours covered school trips but nothing else so I had to get an additional single trip policy for my son when he went to a french language school last summer.
