My daughter is in pain from an infected wisdom tooth, went to dentist today and she's been given antibiotics, x ray on Thursday, but the tooth will have to go.

Is the extraction covered by medical card? Forgot to ask today.

Some dentists on the medical card will accept the poor fee for such a job. More won't I would expect... In that case they might refer her to the dental hospital or local general hospital for medical card treatment. The problem with this is the dublin dental hospital are not accepting new wisdom tooth referrals and the general hospitals have a two year waiting list...
You could go to a private oral surgeon but that would not be on the medical card.....

I think he said he could do it or refer her to Tullamore hospital, but I think waiting for that is not a good idea, she's in so much pain, I'll just have to pay whatever it costs
