Hi, I was wondering if anyone has done a putter fitting recently or would know where to get one done. I know Donal Scott does them and Padraig Dooley does Edel putter fittings, is there anyone else in Ireland doing them? Cheers.

Brian Sweeney in Naas GC just fitted me before Xmas. He uses the SAM Putt Lab and I found it the whole process brilliant.

I'm taking lessons with him now. The putter I had been using for 5 years was nowhere near suited for my stroke. Crazy how much we all ignore putter fitting and lesson.

    I'd recommend Brian.

Thanks for the help. I know so many people that have got fit for drivers and irons but never their putters which is a bit crazy considering how many times you use a putter each round.

Do you mind me asking what putter you bought, he seems to specialise in ping, did you get to try other brands aswell?

Putter fitting can be odd , not always what will suit your eyes will suit your swing.
The lines for alignment are often more important.
They can have a big effect on how u aim and set up.
The edel putter fitting really focused on it.

Ya I totally agree, alignment lines can make a huge difference.

Apologies only seeing this now. Yeah I got a Scotty Newport 2.

He didn't try push any brand on to me at all. The fitting is mainly about the length, loft and lie. Also putter type comes into mallet, blade etc.

Pull the trigger and tell him I sent you.

I've booked in for next week, looking forward to the fitting.
