note: I can't do the urls yet, but if this interests you at all you head over to reddit..../r/MhOir

    Hello!

/r/MhOir is a subreddit political simulation of Houses of the Oireachtas, the Dáil and soon in the future, the upper house, the Seanad.

Below will be a guide to help you with understanding a /r/MhOir.

    Getting Started on /r/MHOIR
As this is a simulation of a government, there are a number of things that you can do!:

    1. Join a party
There a few different parties that are currently operating that you can choose from:

    Parties Platform
    Sinn Féin (Left wing) Platform
    Labour Party (Centre Left) Platform
    Conservative Party (Right Wing) Platform
    Workers Party (Far Left) Platform
    Gael Troid (Centrist) Platform
However if there is no party that suits you best, you can either

    A. Make a Party
If you wish to make a party, then you will need to find 2 other like minded individuals, to be recognised as a Independent Grouping by the simulation and 4 to be a full fledged party.

    B. Be an Independent
If you have no time for Party politics, and the Parish pump is the only way for you, then you can take part as an independent.

    2. Be elected as a TD
A government term in the simulation lasts for 3 months, or until the government loses support from the Dáil. After the government term is over, a General Election is called. (A General Election is expected to be called soon)

In the current Dail, there are 15 TDs, but this number goes up and down depending on activity.

You can run for office in our elections they are simulated and based on accumulating Political Capital through being active in the game. An event can go well and an event could go badly! The only way to find out is to spend that capital. Also if you like making posters and writing speeches you get rewarded for that too!

    3. Submit legislation and discuss!
Within this simulation, if you are a TD, you can submit bills to be discussed in the Dail. These bills can be anything, social issues, financial problems, transport, anything that you wish to change!.

However, even if you aren't a TD, you can submit legislation, so long as a TD sponsors your bill! In the past we have had bills discussing Marriage equality, Transport problems, Health issues, The Church and more.

Here are a few examples of bills that have been discussed in the Dail:

B136 - Adjunct and Precarious Education Workers Bill, 2017
B131 - Recognition of Irish Sign Language, 2017
M038 - Censure of UK Mass Surveillance
    B137 - School Meals Bill, 2017
