That video is soooo fake, its something put together on a PC and sent to a news room, everything about it looks unreal, from the buildings below to the plane. Just look at the way the plane suddenly speeds up. Its definitely not real

Is this supposed to be sarcasm?

I'm fairly sure this is where it was launched from:
    https://www.google.ie/maps/place/McCarran+International+Airport/@36.0745485,-115.0592007,65a,35y,44.76t/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x80c8c59f1f049c5d:0x471359241ec41e1e!8m2!3d36.0839998!4d-115.1537389?hl=en

I think the video of the area is real, but regarding the plane I'm not too sure about.. no strobes, no landing light, no landing flap.. hmm

Fake as hell. Of course it's America. Never forgot the time the newscaster got trolled with the crew names of an Asian jet that crashed can't link it . But Captain Sum Ting Wong, Hol E Fook can't remember the other name.

    Thought it sounded almost OTT.

Regarding the speed, the playback frame rate of the video has been altered. The initial climb of the drone looks a bit fast, and it’s clearly been slowed down as the plane passes directly below, then returned to a 1:1 capture/playback rate.

If it’s fake, it’s incredibly convincing. I’m 99% certain the video has actually been captured from a drone, and I see nothing that would cause me to suspect the landscape or buildings have been computer generated.

The plane being added in later is more likely than the whole video being created from scratch, if only for the reason that that would be the only sensible way to fake this without requiring a Hollywood-scale production. I’m still inclined to think the video is what it claims from my viewing though.

That's them thanks. Terrible crash but somebody had an awesome sense of humour if not somewhat twisted.

Screen recording of alleged original posting of the video to a private Facebook group. The poster has since claimed he found the SD card and it wasn’t him flying, though he has also posted other videos of him flying recklessly and illegally. He hasn’t made any attempt to claim the footage is fake.

It's fake and not even a particularly good one at that. He's getting views on his YouTube channel. He ain't going to kill the golden goose.

The video isn't on the alleged original poster's YouTube channel.

Can you share how you know it's fake?

Simple have you seen the profile of an aircraft on approach to landing? Lights flaps etc?

    I have.

There are some flaps out, not sure what extension. The aircraft appears to be over a point 3.6 NM out from the RWY26L TDZ, which would suggest it should be 1142ft AGL on a 3º glideslope if my maths are correct.

Lights would be my main reason to be skeptical alright, but there are a few reasons why we may not be seeing them here due to the quality of video, frame rate, harsh backlighting by the sun etc.

Look if you wish to believe it's real I won't argue with you. To me it looks a real scene with a plane added in. It does not behave in a manner you would expect of a real plane lights, flaps in a landing approach. Also you mention harsh backlighting yet no variance of light hitting the plane that I can see anyway. I'm sure the FAA will issue a report soon.

If it turns out to be legit, I hope they throw several hefty books at him.
