due to a large break in the Council mains along Plassey Road, between the lower roundabout and wind turbine, Council have no option but to enforce a road closure while they dig to repair this section of piping. While this is not ideal they are hoping to minimise disruption by starting works after 10am tomorrow morning and continuing to dig until the problem has been resolved. Until they uncover the damage they are unable to gauge how long it will take to repair this section therefore for the duration of the works there will be road diversion signs in place for all road users. The road will not be passable in this area however beyond the proposed dig site Vision Care will be able to utilise the Annacotty Roundabout only. All other tenants on the park will not be allowed to pass through the lower roundabout for the duration of the works and will have to follow the diversion signs to reach the Dublin Road.

Cheers man, is there any notice available for this online? Would be good to send around the office today, traffic will be chaotic around here by 4:30 :D

Had a look, couldn't find anything.

Traffic will only be crazy this evening if they don't get it sorted during the day...

Probably not any notice seeing as its part of the technology park and not a public road per se

It warrants one though, especially if the work is still ongoing when every office in the park & UL begins emptying out this afternoon. The traffic will hit every part of Castletroy if that is the case.

I'd say the best bet is letting AA roadwatch know. That is probably as much notice as you're probably going to get

    latest update

    Dear All,

Please be advised that the road works will be completed this evening but not before 5pm unfortunately.

The channel will be filled temporarily for approximately 7 days until they are back to permanently relay the road.
