Looking for a new set of tyres on my car and have been offered a brand called Imperial by the local stockist. Anybody on here heard if they are any good?

    80 each that's for 225-40-18

A tyre that size for that price suggests that they are ditchfinders!

I wouldn't expect anything in 225/40/R18 for €80 from a bricks and mortar retailer to be decent.

Oponeo has Goodyear Efficientgrip Performance for €99 (~€110 fitted) or Hankook Ventus Prime3 for €5 less.

That is €120 difference on all wheels - is it really worth saving on them?

Tbh in most places the budget brands are 70 each, these are supposed to be mid range.

They also have Uniroyal Rain Sport 3 for €90 a corner delivered:

Add another €50/€60 to have them fitted locally.

Had them on my C220. €52 per tyre.

Great in the rain, stops well, wearing evenly, low road noise for the size. That set was donated onto the Z, they have about 9k miles now. Plenty of meat left

They genuinely surprised me as I generally turn my nose to cheap Chinese tyres. They perform very well

Would I buy again? Yes, but will compare them to the set I have now

Will anyone take this advise on board? I don't particularly care

Edit: That's some mark up from the actual shop vs online

Rule of thumb would be that you’d have heard of anything mid range or premium before. Anything mid range will usually be a lot more expensive than €80.
That said they might be a grand tyre but that is certainly very cheap for the size.

Yeah that's including wheel alignment too so it is very cheap.

I know somewhere nearby doing Firestones @ 110 each, might see if I can get them down a bit.

Think Imperial Dynasty and you'll be on the right track.

I ran Imperial EcoSports in 225/45/17 for 2 years. I found them fantastic, great grip in wet or dry, quiet and wore very well. I got roughly 35k kms out of them. I would have no hesitation fitting them again and would have them on my current car except I couldn’t get them in my size at the time and plumped for Avon ZZ5’s instead.
