    Hi everyone.

Just wondering is it worth registering for VAT (small part time farmer) around 70 sheep but expanding. Is it worth it? How will it benefit/hinder? Also does registering for VAT affect the tax being paid on wages off the farm.

    Thank you.

Stay as far away as possible from it

Unless you're going to be buying a lot of machinery don't register, you get vat on sheep sales , if you build farm buildings or fencing you can get the vat back and there's no VAT on animal feed.
