ewes developing hard elders after lambing?

    hi i experienced having 3/4 ewes getting bad elders in the weeks after lambing last year and im keen not to let this happen again. anyone know what causes it? is it dirty beeding in pens getting infections througgh the spins?

    More than likely. Were the pens wet and dirty ?

    Lots of straw. Take out cleanings if you can' they really dampen the place
