Apz is one of the worst simmentals out there for replacements. His daughters wouldn’t calve a mouse.

It would want to be a small mouse. Don't use APZ.

Don't know how he is aloud to be still sold in ai as a replacement bull. You can afford to go fairly muscular and not be to worried about milk by the sound of those cows. If you want a chance of colour use fawn sims instead of dark red.

Daughter calving difficulty and especially daughter calving interval are well worth looking at also. I had eight OZS heifers earmarked for replacements here three years ago, lovely looking heifers but they'll all be gone later this year after having three calves at most. They have very poor fertility and are difficult to get in calf. The fact that thayre well able to calve isnt much use when theyll only have a calf every 400 days.
His figures on icbf back this up too.
