HI, can I purchase these shares in Euro I.e purchase the euro cost through Degiro and receive dividends in euros. I thought the only way was sterling but was hoping to avoid direct currency exposure. Thanks.

Yes, if your broker allows you to purchase shares on the Dutch stock exchange, then you can purchase your shares there and receive dividends in Euro.

Thanks. I understand there is a 15% witholding tax applied in Netherlands from dividends. No deduction from purchasing the shares on UK. I suppose one is opening up to currency risk though ifor purchasing in sterling.

What's the difference between purchasing Shell stock (RDS.B) in the UK/NL vs the US?

Will you get a 15% dividend tax by the US?

RDS.B shares are exempt from the 15% withholding tax applied by the dutch Government on its citizens. (This is what I was told by a broker many years ago when I bought some of these, I presume it still applies)

If I buy RDS.B listed in US exchange, I won't get hit by the 15% dutch tax, however I will still be liable for US 15% dividend tax. Is that correct?

I think I can purchase Shell B shares in euros on the Dutch exchange through Degiro in Ireland. I also think the dividend is paid on these B shares with no withholding tax on same
