Where to buy a Lab puppy?

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum.
I am seriously considering buying a Labrador puppy but I want to ensure I am buying one from a reputable breeder.

Does anyone know how I go about buying one? I don't want to purchase from DoneDeal or any site like that as I know it can be dodgy.
If anyone can recommend anywhere for me I'd be so grateful. Thank you!

Have you checked local rescues? They usually have loads of puppies this time of year as all the Christmas gifts become too much like hard work. If you're not too interested in things like lineage etc those puppies are perfect and you're saving a life and opening a space for another soul in need!

If you want one from a breeder with all that entails (and there's nothing wrong with that route either!) I think you can contact the breed club secretary, I'm sure someone else will have those details for you.

Do you work full time? If you do you'll need to have someone to mind your pup as you can't leave a pup alone all day.

    Hi, thanks for your reply!
I never thought about a rescue centre and actually I only live ten minutes from <snip> so I would definitely do that, I think.
Thanks a million for that idea!!
