Flying into Dublin on Tuesday around 8:30am and getting bus from Airport to Galway City. Not done this in years so wondering which service is fastest/most comfortable & best value for money.

    Cheers.

Gobus or citylink are definitely the best options. Both have timetables on their websites.

Much of a muchness between city link and gobus. I prefer gobus because they have a loyalty program but both are both good comfy and efficient.

If you want to get to galway quicker, citylink has an eireagle service which bypasses the city.

Gobus or citylink. Both are about €18 for a single. Gobus goes at quarter to the hour, citylink at quarter past. Both have toilets chargers and are usually nice and warm. I think gobus would be slightly more comfortable and tend to have more chargers.
Don't bother with bus eireann, even the express ones take longer than gobus or citylink in my experience and some of their drivers are very rude.

Walk out of the airport and take whichever of Gobus or Citylink express is going next. Your max wait will be 30 minutes.

As an alternative to the bus, take a 703 or 747 bus to The Point, get on a tram to Heuston and take the train to Galway. Don't take the 747 all the way to Heuston - it goes on a magical mystery tour of the city centre. http://www.irishrail.ie/media/06_dublin-galway_280915_1.pdf

There is a X20 Bus E' that goes from the airport to Athlone and on then to Galway via Ballinasloe, Loughrea and Oranmore. I been on it a few times and it's a good service!

There is an X20 leaving at 09:50 if you can get though early.

Why would anyone take such a ridiculous route? They'd be half way to Galway before they got to the point.

That must be some quare bus to Galway, taking half an hour from the airport then.

Is it nuclear powered, or what?

    :D

It's the two changes that are the maddest bit. For what should be a zero changes three hour journey.

All the more reason to build the heavy rail link to the Airport and run direct Intercity trains from there.

I said half way there not half an hour. Your journey has about an hours worth of travel before you even get a train.
