Door Handle Springs

I have 3 doors where the springs have failed. Brass handles are 20 yr old and in good condition. Searching on line , I only see coiled springs for use in doors , the ones I need look more "normal", see image door handle.jpg . I have checked at a local hardware store , they contacted Basta , who still distribute this handle, but Basta do not supply spare parts. Any suggestions as to where I might find replacement springs would be appreciated.

I have the same handles on my own doors, they're not brass though, more a die-cast alloy. Have you tired contacting Basta directly yourself- seems miserable that they wouldn't supply you with the few springs you need. Are you sure the handles are at fault? There is also a spring in the mortise lock mechanism which can weaken with time also. Can't help you on sourcing springs, sorry.

The springs in all those handles go eventually.
Find a local agri or engineering supply shop. They might have some springs that would fit.

Find a local guy that loves taking stuff apart and fixing stuff. I love take g stuff apart and have box's of all kinds of springs. And clips etc that come in handy

You can buy boxes of assorted springs from motor factors and the like.

Small money about a tenner a box.
