February F&F Photo competition; 'What's in the toolbox' Some of us have a lot of tools, some of us have the minimal approach. Years ago a local farmer's son set up a contracting business, he had a Leyland tractor and a kidd double chop silage harvester. There was a newbie on the Leyland one day and on his first day there was a breakdown on the Kidd and he says to the lad drawing in 'Fetch our toolboxes'. I think he was a bit disappointed when the lad came back with not one but two vice-grips!

Congrats to Limestone Cowboy our January winner.

I see he won in November competition as well, might be a potential change of career option there;)

There's been a few people complaining about big photos, if you are on a laptop perhaps you have the zoom setting bigger than 100%. Try and re-size them to a medium format on a photo site like flickr etc.

There is a star shape on the top right of the screen where you type a web address, if you have the magnifying glass icon with a + sign in it, left click on it and select 'reset to default'. This should reduce the photos so that they can be seen on the screen. To increase the font size again hold the CTRL key down and press the '+' key. It's a useful feature to zoom in on photos/DD ads etc.

    Usual rules apply;

    Guidelines-

Photo must be your own image i.e. taken by you or a family member.
Photo should conform to this month's theme.
You may enter more than once (within reason though, not 100 photos please!)
No chat/banter on this thread please, it will be removed. If you want to discuss what's in the photo take it to chit chat or send a PM to the person who posted it.
Even if the theme isn't strictly farming related, we would like to see the photos to have some tie to farming.
    No naughty pictures please.
Final winners will be the photo with the most 'thanks' from a single photo which can be entered any month.

So there are lots of chances guys!

    Any questions/queries, please PM blue5000

Lets see what's in there, tell us what you'd be lost without. I have a metric box and an imperial box, because I'm old, but If I left this yoke behind it wouldn't be long before I missed it.

It's a Kershaw A100 multi-tool for those who might want to google it. But they don't make them anymore unfortunately.

Some of the unusual things I have in my toolbox.
    - Box of o-rings
    - Box of cotter pins (split pins)
    - Selection of springs
    - Set of Transfer Punches
    - Box of screws
Got them all for free as nobody else wanted them, when they were being thrown out at work. Used the cotter pins only yesterday.

    Oops, comments not allowed. ....

MOD note; attach a photo in the next 24hrs and I'll allow it, blue.

New addition to the "fencing bucket".
    18 inch cutters.
Far handier than pliers for cutting HT, and they will easily snip staples that are fully driven in.
    Only a fiver off eBay.

At least 30 years in age difference between the two Makita drills. Ebay mag drill saved a fortune of work in fitting out the shed.

Here are the tools I couldn’t be without in the month of February. Calving jack, ropes, lube, iodine and a pike.

Congrats Limestone cowboy, our winner with 28 votes. Great to see that foxy farmer has managed to squeeze another layer in since last year:D

I wonder what treasure is hidden underneath it all:confused:.

Get taking a few snow white pics for March before it melts.....
