Is it an e46 or e90? I've seen 05 in both.

    E46 maybe 1000, e90 maybe 1500.
If it's msport maybe a bit more.

How much did you pay in October?

You always pay more off a dealer.

If a dealer has to make (say) €600 a car to keep the show on the road, then at the cheap end of the market that can represent a high percentage of the price.

A good bit of that 1900 was the dealer's profit rather than the market value of the car at the time. This is why it very rarely makes sense to buy cars of that value from dealers. It's also deemed a year older now and the E46 is well into bangernomics territory these days.

Why are you selling so quickly? It's a decent car to be letting go for 1000 euro if it's in good condition.
    Are they a 1.8?
Sure tax isn't as cheap as what's around now and fuel consumption isn't great on them but I'd be keeping it for a year or more it can't go down much in value from here on!

Well to be honest my insurance is up and im not happy with the quote , im probably going to go back down to 1.4 again for cheaper insurance and tax. Its a shame really because i do really like the car

I find it hard to justify paying 1500 for insurance and 600 for tax when i dont really put up many mies in the year

Shop around a bit on the insurance.

Here's a list of almost all insurers in the country:

You'd be well advised to get a quote off all of them. It's tedious but it will save you money. And you can't necessarily say that a 1.4 will be cheaper to insure than a 1.8/2.0. It all depends on the car in question.
