loft ladder: Folding or sliding

I want to put in a loft ladder, but as my roof is hip style on a semi-d, the roof slopes in above existing hatch, giving me about 500mm heigth clearance above the hatch. This may or may not dictate which style ladder I buy.
All of the cheap sliding aluminum loft ladders I see in hardware shops dont come with a hatch, so Im wondering its probably a lot of work to make a nice hatch, and make it insulated and airtight. Wheras the folding ladders (although) more expensive and heavier, come with insulated hatches, so save you the bother of making a hatch.
Does anyone have any experience with either, and which type would they recommend I go for.
    Thanks

making the door looking nice but also sealing will be a big job if you havnt the right tools.
I would buy the folding insulated one. it will cost more but you wont have as much work to do.

The sliding one is more of a ladder.

The folding one is more like a stairs. You'll like this as you get older. It's more sturdy & as pointed out above it is insulated
