www.dailyedge.ie/beverly-hills-mitchelstown-3827879-Feb2018/ Why did this place close? It's the sort of place that fascinates me. Are there any more of these weird sideshow attractions left in Ireland?

It closed because it was unadulterated crap and didn't fascinate more than a handful of people.

I know. I know. I should have put when did it close? Delightfully ****e attractions fascinate me, though. Maybe cos I grew up in Bray when it was still full of arcades.

Here is the thing from the RTE archieves. It was discussed on Today with Maura and Daithi last Friday!
It's was located off the old Cork road. You turn left after the Top Garage and drive until your drive over the motorway bridge and it would have being located on your right.(Roughly)
It common enough knowledge why it closed locally.

    From Daily Edge,
"A child was either seriously hurt or killed there in the late 80′s and it closed down not too long afterwards. The owner moved away, I’d love to know what happened to him. He was a lovely man."

Celtworld, but that didn't last long.

There's one in Westport that's now pirate-themed, probably trying to piggyback on the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Eh, it's themed around Gráinne Mhaol, famous Mayo pirate.
