Sky in apartment with VM broadband

Hi, hoping someone else has gone through this process in the past who can help me out.

I've just signed up to Sky for my apartment after getting a card a few months ago saying it was now available. Apparently it works via a communal dish.

When they come to install it, how does it work? Do they drill a hole in my walls or something to run a cable from the communal dish? My apartment has a Virgin media outlet on the wall, are they able to somehow hook into that somewhere?

I'm still keeping the Virgin internet, I probably should have checked this before I signed up but it slipped my mind, but there'll be no problem with me having Virgin internet and Sky TV, right?

    Thanks

I’m not in an apartment, but have Sky TV and Virgin broadband. It’s not usually a problem.

Ive moved the thread to satellite where someone might be able to explain more about how communal Sky works

I have Sky apartment with a communal dish. They'll pull a fibre strand through a window/balcony frame and connect that to a converter which then goes into the Sky box.
