How cheap is too cheap?

Guys I'm just about to put our second car up for sale, it's an Auris TR 1.33 and having a look online they seem to be up for between 6-7k (it has nct to July 2019, UK spec, only two owners)

However, it's actually sitting outside doing nothing as we now don't have a requirement for it so I'd like to move it along quickly rather than holding out for best price.

If I was to put it up at 5k to try for quick sale would such a price discrepancy put people off?

2009 but not really looking for commentry on the price, more for feedback on if when buying there's a point at which buyers think there must be an issue if it's underpriced.

Wife currently going through usual sites making a short list of auris prices with the same spec, milage, condition, nct etc. Initial findings were between 6-7 but once we have a solid average we intend to come in at least 800 under just wondering if it's likely to put buyers off rather then entice them.

Once something isn't crazy cheap with no good reason to be so, it should only attract potential buyers. Be honest in your reason for selling, and mention the fact that it's "priced to sell".

During the early summer, I sold a 16' cabin cruiser for quite a bit less than it was worth, but I wanted to move it on and had upgraded to a bigger boat.

    The first viewer bought it.

Happy days thnaks for your feedback. We bought it from a Toyota dealer with a full years warranty as it was for herself for end of pregnancy and maternity so wanted reliability but obviously paid for that peace of mind. Happily we're in the position that we can afford to take the hit rather than deal sit in it waiting for the right offer.

I'd doubt anyone is paying 6-7k for a 9 year old Auris. If they are send them my way as my old fella has a low mileage similar example and at those prices I'd gladly convince him to sell it.

Is she looking at private or garage prices?

Private, filters on on searches to exclude dealers. But as stated, not looking for opinions on prices as we haven't set one yet and are still researching it. At the end of the day we are still considering sending it to a cars for cash set up for 3k just for ease. Really isn't about the money at all.

Just looking to get an idea on how much off is "too much" if we go private sale.

Yep, privately they're going for 4.5k to 5.5k realistically, depending on mileage and condition. I'd say around 4k for a quick sale.

Under 4k appears too cheap something is wrong. Over 5k I doubt you will get a phone call. It depends on its spec and petrol or diesel. The petrol are 570 tax a year I believe. Very mundane and basic car.

Its petrol but tax is 280 a year, agree with it being mundane, UK spec is its main redeeming feature.

Got a shout back from a cars for cash dealer just now that I sent the details and pictures too with an offer of 4400 (first offered 4) if I can sell next week as he has a buyer for it so seems thread was a little wasted now as likely to just take that for ease. Thanks all.

I'd take the offer. Good luck.

1.33 petrol UK imported Auris are €280 to tax which were available from 2009. The old 1.4 petrol that soldiered on here until the facelift in 2010 was indeed €570 to tax.

    Thanks for the clarification Bazz.
