    Hi all,
Have a Nissan leaf and recently changed the fronts to rears and put new fronts on...

anywho. When the tyre lad was moving the fronts he commented that they were wearing in the middle. I had a look and its well noticeable.
he said (and I've googled it) that's its caused by over inflation.
I have the tyres at the correct pressure for the car so any ideas what causing it or what remedy I should have.

    they're 215/55/r17

That's a known issue with them leaf machines.....

It's due to weight of batteries mainly.

How accurate is the gauge that you used? I'd an old pen type gauge that I was using and turned out that I was over inflating by 3psi.

36 psi as stated on door panel.

Had tyre place check them and just cos I have OCD checked myself on a nearby Garage. Both read 36psi, so as asked by nissan.

Would it not wear down the sides for heavy batteries? The middle wearing is usually over inflated.

    hence my questions.. dodgy tyre?

The fact is that if the centre portion is wearing most, the tyre is being run over inflated. It has taken up a balloon shape with the centre hitting road first.
I'd simply drop them to 34 and see how that goes.
Nissan may be over specifying the pressures for max efficiency.
