    Is there a technical name for that effect? Some sort of aberration with the lens?

    Unaware of the technical name for it though it's normally referred to as a ghosting or a ghosting flare. Lights reflecting off the interior of the lens in some way.
    it's unlikely to be a problem with your specific lens that's likely a characteristic of that model lens generally.
    (I'm only basing that on how difficult it would be to damage a lens to produce that kind of behaviour or for an element to get out of a factory without whatever coatings and secret spices they use to try and mitigate things like that.)
