1.5mm mild steel sheet.

    I want to fabricate a few repairs to the cab on the David brown.

    Has anyone bought 1.5mm mild steel sheet, I presume it’s 8*4, any idea if the cost ?

    I bought two sheets yesterday - 35 euro per sheet. I'm not sure on the thickness though as I wanted it to cover gates.

    I've the same as you, and done a bit of similar tidying. 1.5 is perfect, I got mine in a yard behind Michael Moore skoda in athlone. Can't remember the price but he cut itfor me so I could fit it in the car.
    Watch out for the cab steel, it' melts very easily, easier melt than what your buying. I had to spot weld it with the arc welder and when I put it back on the tractor I filled the gaps. And excess I trimmed it with the grinder also before the filler went on so weld on enough.
    I riveted a few pieces also and it wasn't too bad looking either after the filler. I was looking for tidy but not a show piece by any means.

    I’m thinking of fabricating new panels completely rather than patching old ones so I’d probably need two sheets.

    Make the new ones with 4 parts and weld together. Look at the old one. . Less scrap that way.
