I just received my icb report, and on it there's my student debt of 850 which was settled/written off in 2924,and says it will be removed in August 2019, I've been approved for a new credit card which is also on it, all payments are up to date and correct on this card. I would like to apply for a mortgage but after this should I wait till it is removed?? New to this so hope its in the right place, cheers in advance for any help

Hi I would say wait until August 2019 then you will have a clear ICB report and no record of previous bad credit will go against you on your mortgage application. Also if you can get rid of the credit card as majority of lenders don't like to lend if you have loans, car finance, overdrafts and credit cards.

I wouldn't get rid of the credit card just for reason mentioned, a well run credit card is not a deterrent to a lender and in fact shows someone can manage their money. Not all loans are bad either once you can afford them as well as the mortgage you want!

Lenders have no problems with credit cards once they are managed properly and would be good for your credit rating to see them cleared on a monthly basis.
