5G phones are expected to arrive in 2019 and it seems that at this capability will enable the ability to use driverless cars, drones and create smart cities. Do we really need all of this?

No, we need to get parts of the country that are still on edge technology to get up to a minimum of 3g, that would be better

One big mistake made in Ireland when handing out licenses is we allow companies to go for already covered large populated areas first.

When in fact we should stipulate that the opposite happens and companies start with fringe areas first.

There would be arguments that companies wouldn’t do this as it wouldn’t be as attractive, but you know what, if this was their only access to the market they would do it.

    Disagree.

Force geo coverage and you get massive cells that are only good for calls and texts but you can forget data.
