Do I need to cancel a 30 day sim only plan when I port to a new provider?

    Do I need to cancel a 30 day sim only plan when I port to a new provider?
    I have an Eir 30 day sim only contract and I am switching to another provider. The new provider is sending me a SIM, I then contact them to Port my number.
    I want to know if the porting of my number cancels my Eir contract?
    I understand that I am still liable for the remaining bill for the next 30 days.

    Hi johnnyrotten,

    Once your number becomes active on the new providers network the Eir account will terminate automatically.
