Audi A6 (2008) - problem with front passenger door

So, have a little problem with my front passenger door. The central locking wont open it - I have to use the inside door handle to unlock it.

Once it's been opened from the inside the handle on the outside works fine and will open it, so mechanically it seems to be ok.
Central locking also has no issues in locking the door - has never failed to lock it so far.

Wondering if this is likely to be fixable without replacement of the entire lock, which I understand is a fairly pricey part.

Anyone hit something like this before or have enough Audi lock knowledge to comment?

Have you been double pressing the unlock button on the fob?

Have never had to - single press has always unlocked all of the doors. Currently a single press is opening the driver and both rear doors - used to open them all until a couple of months back when the front passenger door decided to be different.

If your talking about fixing it yourself it's best to get a wiring diagram from the net.

You can then pinpoint the open/close circuits to see can you drive the lock open manually.

Otherwise you will need to pull the door card off and get access to the lock. A 12v supply onto the correct terminals will allow you test it's functionality
