Bad drivers

Got a fright today, when 2 cars driving behind me over took me when they were not meant to pass. Just as the first car was pulling back in to the lane, I was coming up to my turn lane to turn right. I indicated and just at that moment the 2nd car pulled out to over take me. Was lucky no one was seriously injured. Or that there were no people walking on the footpath.
I had only passed a speed van less than 100 yards up the road.
Has this happened to anyone else when they were in making a turn?

Happens to often unfortunately. All you can do is signal early and check mirrors and blind spot before making your manoeuvre.

Yup happens all the time, that and a car behind deciding to overtake me and the car in front at the same moment as I want to overtake. It's why your thought to A. Always be mindful of what's going on around you and B. Mirror-signal-manoeuvre.

You didn't by any chance completely miss the fact that the car behind had gone to overtake and swerved out in front/on top of them did you?

Careful, some people on here will try blame you for not indicating half a mile down the road or assume you don't check your mirrors and all kinds of other silly nonsense!

Nothing to do with indicating, you can’t overtake coming up to a junction, regardless if some is turning right or not.

Maybe so, but if you turn right while someone is overtaking you then things get complicated.

Maybe the 2nd car thought it was okay to over take, because the 1st car did. When I checked my mirror, the car was still behind me. It was when I move in to the turn lane they went to over take at the same time.

...or driving to the prevailing conditions, not what some bureaucrat has written in a rule book. Most people know you should not overtake near a junction and several other conditions. This does not stop the rougher and less disciplined elements of society trying it on. Our betters like to harp on about "expecting the unexpected" and other such rot and accommodating children, old people, etc on our roads. You also need to have your wits about you and used the mirror to spot the test pilots on your 6 o'clock position before making a turn.

Drivers also need to take account of the speed merchants before they injure you. They might end up with a big fine, no licence or jail, you end up in hospital.

The car was still behind me when I looked in the Mirror and signaled. When I manoeuvred so did the 2nd car.

Driving means having to expect the unexpected, because people are idiots.
