    Hi

Does anyone know of any free software that allows you to transfer/migrate files/data/programs from 1 laptop running Windows 10 to another laptop running windows 10 or are there any inbuilt programs/features in windows 10 that supports this

    Thoughts?
    Thanks

If you have a home network, you should be able to share files between each laptop over the network. In Windows you can setup a homegroup and give access to specific folders/directories. But this will generally give poor performance for transferring a lot of files, so it depends on what you are transferring. If you have a USB hard disk, this might make things quicker/easier.

As for programs. No you will need to re-install these again on the new machine. And depending on licenses you might not be able to use the programs across two machines.

For files and data use a USB hd or key
It's actually quite awkward to get 2 PC's to talk to each other directly.
For programs generally have to use the installer as opposed to just copying data as there are registry keys etc involved
