Can I stream Chromecast Netflix from a MacBook?

I am currently watching Netflix through a Google Chromecast dongle, controlled by the Netflix app on my iPhone.

Can I download the Netflix app to my MacBook Pro and steam through that, rather than the phone?

    Thanks.

You don't stream though any client... The client instructs Chromecast to stream directly from a url.

It depends whether the Netflix app can control a Chromecast from a Mac

You can do it straight from the website on your mac book.

    Thanks.

I should have made clear that what I want to do it to continue to watch on my TV (not on the MacBook) but control it from the MacBook.

When I check the App store from the MacBook, I don't see the same App as I have on the phone.

    Hence my question.

    Thanks again.

You need to be using a Chromium based browser (Chrome, Opera, Vivaldi etc.) for it to work. If you haven't set it up already then you'll need to do an initial configuration which involves connecting it to your wireless network. After that, every time you're using a compatible website there'll be a little chromecast icon displayed somewhere (for netflix it's in the video control bar).
