IWI fix insulation to slats or direct to solid wall?

We are getting a room which has solid walls (no cavity) insulated using internal wall insulation. Currently the walls have slats and plasterboard on them. My question is whether we could put the insulation directly on the plasterboard (& slats) or would we need to pull everything off and fix the insulation directly to the solid wall brick? There is no indication of any damp on the wall.

    Thanks very much.

Pull everything off, plaster up any cracks, and use air-tightness tape at floor / perimeter junctions. Ensure adequate ventilation and heat are provided in the room, IWI can lead to interstitial condensation.
