Apologies if there's a thread already dedicated but couldn't find one ...

    Anyways...

Taking herself away for a weekend.

Any suggestions for a nice hotel. Both early thirtys but value our sleep!

    Any romantic hotels in Kilkenny?

Try Butler house...it's fab and in a great location.
Zuni is another small hotel option.

The river court hotel with a castle view room
Hibernian hotel but that's very central and might be noisier

Lyrath is a bit outside Kilkenny but that would be a luxury option

I don't know about the others but we visited the Lyrath. It was like a giant kids club. It wasn't a good spot for a romantic getaway.

    Lucky "herself" :)!
There are lovely walks around the grounds of the castle and you can go out from there onto the riverside walk, along one side of the river and back the other - leading back to the Rivercourt Hotel. Lovely on a nice sunny morning.
The tourist office is just up the street from the hotel and they'll give you all the lowdown on the touristy things. Hope ye have a lovely weekend in KK!!

Take her for afternoon tea in the lyrath or an evening meal in rinnucinis (they do a very good early bird also) if you want to really impress.
