I notice that the newly opened Cool Planet Experience at Powerscourt appears to be implementing a no burka policy.

"- Face masks and/or costumes which are designed to conceal the identity of a person are prohibited."

    http://cpe.cool/pages/terms-and-conditions

No exceptions on any grounds mentioned.

Seems a risky stance for a registered charity to be taking.

Maybe I'll rock on down in my burka to check out if they think I'm concealing my identity or not!

Why don't you email them for clarification if you're worried about possible discrimination?

I don't think they'll take too much notice tbh. From the same page -

The Cool Planet Experience reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to refuse entry on to or remove from its premises or the vicinity any person who:

I underlined the important part. Now go rock that burka! :p

If they don’t want Batman there, could they not just say it out straight?

‘Batman will be refused admission. In fact, no Batpeople need apply. Or Spiderman either. Seriously. No superheroes. Except for Swamp Thing. He’s down with the whole environmental catastrophe aversion thing, and doesn’t wear a mask. Although he probably should. Head’s in a jocker altogether’.

    See? Easy.

Balaclavas are not the sole domain of the RA .

So, are we outraged, not outraged? I'm a bit drunk and not sure which bandwagon I should be climbing onto.

I think I might hold off for a while and wait to be outraged by people who will be outraged by this.

I see no reference to any particular religious garb - native or non native tbh.

Another snowflake seeking to be offended?

Seems like a sensible policy, if someone wants to get in then show their face.

So the concern is that fundamentalist type muslims will complain about restrictions on the rights of women...

I might show up in blackface. Just so everyone can share in the outrage.

The OP didn't sound offended. I'm not entirely sure what the point of the thread was.
